Lotus Seven |
---|
A 1957 1098cc. FWA Climax de Dion car being hill climbed by owner and Club Lotus Competition Secretary, Jack Richards. This car was built to a very high standard. It was said that even the oil dip-stick was chrome-plated! |
The engine bay of #421 - A 1958 1460cc FWB Climax de Dion car, the only one that left the factory with that specification. Built for Paul Fletcher in exchange for his Porsche 356 which ACBC wanted for personal transport to European race circuits, the car was assembled by Mike Costin and Keith Duckworth and setup and tested by Graham Hill. |
A Ford 100E side-valve powered car shown as a kit 'straight out of the box'. It must have been rare, indeed, as it seems all was there ready to assemble! |
#436, the first Super Seven (FWA Climax) and factory demonstrator being raced at the famous Boxing Day at Brands Hatch meeting by Graham Hill where, despite drum brakes and 'live' rear axle, it won, beating the streamlined cars of the day. |
