Staffordshire Clubs for Young People are holding a charity day at Curborough Sprint Course on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Among the 100 cars and motorcycles entered, they hope to welcome back favorites, including the 5700cc orange “Catering Meats Special” 1970s Jersey hill climber Ford Capri, James Ibbotson’s super quick Hillman Imp, and David Hands’ magnificent 1925 Type 39 GP Bugatti. And of course “Spider”, featured on this year’s flyer, arguably the most famous Shelsley hill climb special, built by Basil Davenport in 1923.

The annual Ricketts Racing open day will take place on 14th September. This year the event will also mark the 50th anniversary of the HLR; there will hopefully be a good turnout of members and their cars. Members bringing their historic Lotus will get a commemorative mug and keyring.

There will be food available, the profits from this are donated to a local Hospice charity. Last year £3700 was raised, taking the running total to over £30,000.

The 49th Annual Dinner will take place at 19:00 on Saturday 16th November 2024 at Stanton Manor, Stanton Saint Quintin, Wiltshire. This will be preceded by the AGM at 16:30. The AGM will also be available as a Zoom video conference.
The Dinner is priced at £55 per person. Please print and complete the booking form and return to Nigel Halliday ASAP.
