The annual Ricketts Racing open day will take place from noon to 6 pm on Saturday 26th September, at The Old Dairy Barn, Lamer Lane, Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, AL4 8RG. This event is always popular, with a great assortment of historic Lotus cars expected to attend.
Early 1956 was the original launch date of the Lotus Eleven, arguably the most important car for the formation and consolidation of Lotus as a serious manufacturer of competition cars and a motor manufacturer. To celebrate this successful car the HLR is going to attempt to get Eleven Elevens together at this event.
So if you own an Eleven either used for racing, restored for the road or just display or it is just a part restored project or just a chassis, please do bring it along on the 26th September 2026. We would also love to see some European owners with their Elevens at the event (St Albans is just outside the M25 and therefore quite accessible from the Channel Tunnel or ferries).
Temporary storage of cars may also be available if required. If you require any further information please contact Nigel Halliday, HLR Chairman, in the first instance.

There will be food available, and the proceeds from the day are donated to a local charity, the Isabel Hospice in Welwyn Garden City.
